Worship

Our benefice is host to a wide variety of worship from traditional Evensong to our Muddy Praise with outdoor crafts and activities.

Visitors and newcomers are welcome to absolutely everything. Do please feel free to try things out as well to find a home for you. We have welcoming communities in all four of our wonderful church buildings and in all our different services.

We do come together regularly as well to try out new things and remind ourselves of the breadth of our community. 5th Sundays in particular are always a little special! Sunday by Sunday patterns given below, although these sometimes change with the seasons. Subscribe to our newsletter to learn more!

Weekend In: A Joyful Celebration of Community and Faith

What an unforgettable weekend we had at our Weekend In event (6th - 8th June 2025)!

From uplifting moments of worship to heartwarming fellowship, the highlight had to be our joyful outdoor Baptism service. Surrounded by friends and family, we witnessed a powerful step of faith as many new members were baptized in a paddling pool in St Mary’s School grounds —truly a beautiful, Spirit-filled moment of celebration.

We were also blessed by inspiring guest speakers, who spoke passionately on the theme of welcome—how we welcome others into the life of our church and make space for everyone at the table. Their heartfelt messages challenged us to open our hearts wider, create a culture of genuine hospitality, and reflect God's inclusive love in all we do.

And who could forget the delicious food? The Horse Box pizza van kept everyone smiling and satisfied with their mouth-watering, freshly made pizzas. It was a true feast that brought people together over laughter, stories, and second helpings!

Thank you to everyone who came, helped, spoke, served, and celebrated. What a special weekend!

Remembrance Service

What a wonderful service and parade for this year’s Remembrance! A heartfelt thank you to our town council for arranging such a meaningful and respectful parade, honoring those who have served and sacrificed.

A special thanks to everyone who helped prepare St. Mary's Church for the Remembrance Service. To all who knitted and donated the beautiful poppies, your dedication was deeply appreciated, bringing warmth and unity to our tribute. The flower team did an outstanding job decorating the church, creating a beautiful and solemn space befitting the occasion. Additionally, immense gratitude goes to the cleaners who dedicated their time on Saturday to ensure everything looked immaculate.

St. Mary's Church truly shone with reverence and beauty for this special day. Thank you all for your efforts and dedication.
